How to use it

Enter the number of players you expect and the starting stack, level 1 big blind and level length you have in mind, and a blind schedule appears below. The highlighted row is the level at which the event is estimated to finish, with two further levels listed in reserve. To finish earlier or later, changing the level length is the most direct lever.

How the blinds are generated

The big blind rises through multiples of 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8, then repeats the same sequence in the next power of ten (10, 15, 20, 30 and so on). Each step in this ladder is roughly a 20% to 50% increase, a smooth structure that is very common in live events.

How the finish is estimated

Estimated final big blind ≈ Total chips in play ÷ 25

This is a rough rule organisers often use: an event is usually close to finishing when all the chips in play add up to only 20 to 30 big blinds. The tool takes the midpoint, 25, and finds the first level at which the big blind reaches that figure.

Treat it as an estimate. The real time depends on:

  • Whether antes are used. Events with antes finish sooner.
  • How the players play, and whether a deal is made at the end.
  • Breaks — the time shown excludes them, so add 10 to 15 minutes for every 4 to 6 levels.
  • The actual number of re-entries, which may be more or fewer than expected.

Every tool runs entirely in your browser — the numbers you type are never sent to our servers.
